POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – In the Championship bout between No. 1 seeded Wagner College and No. 2 LIU, the Seahawks took the 18-7 victory over the Sharks on Sunday.
Wagner managed to shut down the Sharks most potent offensive player,
Elena Camarena, and held the attacker to no goals and just one assist throughout the game. Although Camarena did managed two steals, LIU was unable to convert on them.
Paola Dominguez, another LIU attacker, had three of the seven goals the Sharks got past the Seahawks' keepers and
Jessica Dean managed to send two into the cage with her efforts.
The Sharks finished their season ranked No. 23 in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) rankings and had a 25-7 overall record and 13-2 in conference play.
