BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU men's volleyball team took on Edward Waters University at home in the Steinberg Wellness Center on Wednesday night and downed the visiting Tigers 3-0 (25-17, 32-30, 25-21).
 
SHARK BITES

• The Sharks started off hot in the first set, quickly taking the lead and hitting a remarkable .583 percent over the course of the set and taking the first 25-17 and going 1-0 on the match.
• In the second set the Tigers took the early lead, ahead 10-6, but LIU came back to tie it at 15-15. The Sharks had multiple set points, starting at 24-22 and going all the way until they claimed the set 32-30 and took a 2-0 lead into the final set of the match.
• The third set was tight as well, and although the last time the Sharks trailed for the set was when they were down 3-2, EWU kept close until LIU took the lead at 17-16 and didn't relinquish it, winning the set 25-21 and claiming the 3-0 match victory.
• The Sharks hit .512 percent for the match and junior Caden Satterfield led the team with 20 kills, individually hitting an incredible .621 percent.
• Freshman Luke Chandler had 10 kills and hit .421 percent while sophomore Hasan Hadžic had eight kills and hit .583 percent for the night.
• Freshman setter Luca Holanda had 35 assists and fellow first year Kasey Clouet had 13.
• Up next, the Sharks are on the road against Sacred Heart University on Friday, March 11 at 7 p.m.
