BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - The LIU women's tennis team defeated both Coppin State, 4-0, and Wagner, 5-0, on Sunday, March 27 for its 11th straight victory. The Sharks record jumps to 15-3 and remains perfect in Northeast Conference play at 4-0.

"It was quite a long day for the players today playing two matches—especially since the first match was outdoors in fairly chilly conditions and the second was late evening indoors," said head coach Jan Griga. "Credit to the team for stepping up, making all the right adjustments and taking care of business getting the full sweep today. This team continues to show what they're made of and what kind of season they intend on having. We are very proud of them."

SHARK BITES VS. COPPIN STATE

• LIU claimed the first point of the day by winning on doubles courts one and two.
• Moving to singles, the Sharks remained hot with Victoria Erechtchenko shutting out Christy Turner 6-0, 6-0 to secure LIU's second point of the match and first on singles.
• Court two saw a nearly identical result with Bianca Compuesto defeating Lucia Placidi 6-1, 6-0.
• LIU clinched the 4-0 victory on court four when Elinor Storkaas took down Kristina Georgieva 6-2, 6-3.

• LIU triumphed on the doubles courts with wins on courts one and two to jump ahead 1-0.
• Shifting to singles, Bianca Compuesto picked up the Sharks first points of the evening match with a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Samantha Lugtu.
• Court one saw Sofiya Kuzina take down Gabrielle Perraudin 6-4, 6-2 while court four Elinor Storkaas triumphed over Alegra D'Alessando 6-1, 6-3 to give LIU a commanding 4-0 lead 
• In a three set thriller on court two, Valentina Dancenco came back to beat Tara Dakic 4-6, 6-2, 6-2
• The Sharks did not lose a single match in the month of March going 8-0 with six wins coming on the road/neutral site and two at home.
• For the second time this season, the Sharks won both matches on the same day. The first time was on March 19th when they defeated Saint Francis U. and Mount St. Mary's back-to-back.
