BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU women's basketball team took on Wagner on Saturday afternoon in the Steinberg Wellness Center. The Sharks ended up falling, 65-57, to the visiting Seahawks.

Brandy Thomas, with 15 points. She also has seven rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and a steal.
SHARK BITES
- The game got off to a slow start as the teams held each other to just 10 points apiece to in the first quarter.
- The pace picked up in the second quarter, with the Sharks trailing by five with a score of 33-28 at the end of the first half.
- There were five lead changes, five ties and each team had 11 turnovers in the first half of the game.
- Wagner outscored LIU by just three points in the second half, but the deficit of the first half proved too great to overcome for the Sharks, and they ended up succumbing to the Seahawks, 65-57.
- Senior forward Kiara Bell led the team in rebounds, with 12, and also had two steals and six points.
- Redshirt junior guard Kennedy Taylor had 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals.
- Freshman guard Emaia O'Brien also hit 11 points and had four rebounds and one assist.
- Up next, the Sharks head to St. Francis Brooklyn to take on the Bulldogs in the Battle of Brooklyn on Friday, February 11 at 7 p.m.
