Men's Lacrosse Duels with Stony Brook

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The LIU men's lacrosse team took on Stony Brook on the second day of the Long Island Cup, falling to the Seawolves, 10-6. Blake Behlen and Sean Boll each contributed two goals to lead the attack for the Sharks.
 
SHARK BITES
  • Behlen got on the board first for LIU in the second period on a man-up, making it 4-1, Stony Brook. Jake Gillis notched an assist on the play. 
  • Thomas von Bargen found the back of the net in the third to trim the deficit, and Behlen added another man-up goal six minutes later, his second of the game.
  • Just a minute later, Boll scored on a Behlen assist to trim the deficit to 7-4, Stony Brook.
  • The Seawolves would score three more goals after that to get to 10 goals on the day.
  • Boll added his second late in the fourth, and James Butler scored as time expired to bring the final tally to 10-6.
  • Behlen, Gillis, and Will Snelders all had assists, and Will Mark saved 12 shots on the afternoon.
  • Up next, the Sharks return home to face Drexel University on Saturday, March 5 at 12:00 p.m.
