PHILADELPHIA, Penn. – The LIU women's tennis team went on the road to take on St. Joseph's University Saturday night and ended up prevailing 5-0 over the Hawks. The Sharks once again started hot by taking the doubles point with wins on all three courts.
 
SHARK BITES

• LIU got off to a fast start in doubles. Court three's duo of Bianca Compuesto and Phoebe Watton were the first to post a win, 6-1, and later Kate Jorjoliani and Jasmine Maduel secured the early 1-0 advantage by winning 6-4 on court two.
• Jorjoliani kept things rolling in singles play with a dominating 6-1, 6-3 performance over her opponent on court five. Beside her on court four, Elinor Storkaas grabbed another point for LIU when she cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 victory to put the Sharks up 3-0.
• The match was clinched when on court two Sofiya Kuzina grabbed a 6-2, 6-4 victory. Bianca Compuesto on court three defeated her opponent 6-4, 6-3 to close out match-play for the Sharks and give them the 5-0 win. Play on courts one and six went unfinished.
• Tomorrow, the Sharks are headed to Newark to take on NJIT Sunday, February 27 at 3 p.m.
