SHARK BITES
  • The Sharks came out swinging in their last home game of the season, taking on the Eagles, slipping four past them in the first, three in the second, and one in the third to win 8-0.
  • Abby Latorella started off the scoring for the Sharks just five minutes in when she let one rip off of an assist from Megan Bouveur.
  • Just five minutes later Bouveur gained another assist, passing the puck to Carrigan Umpherville who handed it off to Alva Johnsson who scored goal number two for the Sharks.
  • Three minutes later, Bouveur slipped one in past the Post goalie with assists from Umpherville and Sarah Rourke to put LIU up 3-0. To seal the deal in the first, Bouveur got another goal with the help of an assist from Lauren Spino. The Sharks were up 4-0 at the end of the first period.
  •  LIU kept coming in the second, when Umpherville scored a power play goal for herself with assists from Jeannie Wallner and Stella Scott. This was followed less than a minute later by Journey Miller who scored off assists from Abby Latorella and Maggie Culp.
  • On a power-play, Umpherville added to the tally with just 20 seconds left in the second, slipping one low past the keeper on assists from Scott and Wallner and the period ended with the Sharks up 7-0.
  • In the third, Culp joined in on the scoring action and thanks to a fast breakaway and quick passing in front of the goal from Latorella and Wallner, brought the Sharks up 8-0 to win the game.
  • The Sharks are heading on the road for their final game of the regular season against Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut on Saturday, February 26 at 2:15 p.m.
