- LIU started the game hot with two three-pointers from Ty Flowers and Eral Penn to take an 8-2 lead.
- The Red Flash kept things close towards the closing moments of the first half, but the Sharks engineered a 10-2 run spanning 3:55, anchored by Isaac Kante and Alex Rivera.
- That run would continue with a Wood three to give LIU a nine-point lead with 3:25 to go until halftime.
- Wood put the exclamation point on the half with a triple with six seconds remaining, pushing the lead to 44-31 at the break.
- The Sharks offense was hot through the first 20 minutes, shooting 54 percent from the field and 6-15 from three-point range. LIU also had a sizable advantage in points in the paint (22-10). Wood was a perfect 6-6 (2-2 3PT) with 14 points to lead all scorers in the first stanza.
- Kyndall Davis' three-pointer gave LIU its largest lead of the contest at 60-42 with 13:24 to go in regulation.
- The Red Flash tried to cut the deficit, but a 12-0 spurt gave the Sharks a 20-point lead with 5:54 left.
- It was a balanced attack for the Sharks, as five players scorerd in double digits.
- Penn finished with 17 points and six rebounds, and Kante scored 14 points on 6-10 shooting.
- Flowers had a double-double with 11 points, 15 rebounds, and six assists. Davis had 13 points on six-for-eight from the floor.
