Brooklyn Bragging Rights! Swimming Sweeps St. Francis Brooklyn in Two-Day Meet

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — LIU men's and women's swimming can wear the crown of the Battle of Brooklyn.

Both Sharks teams took down St. Francis Brooklyn in a two-day meet on Friday and Saturday. The scores were practically identical; the men won, 184-131, and the women were victorious, 185-130.

Bobby Smith's teams each add to the win column. With the ECAC Championships looming, the women sit at 4-2 and the men at 2-3.

On day one, both teams were victorious in every race until the ninth event. Heading into Saturday, the Sharks only conceded first place in three of the first 14 events.

Day two was capped by multiple first place finishes from Venna Andersen, Giannis Venetos, Maaike Broersma, Benny Karlsson, Ella Johnson and Marcell Matyiko, to name a few.

Both teams will compete in ECAC's next on Dec. 2.
