BROOKLYN, N.Y. — It was a quick turnaround for LIU men's swimming after competing at Iona on Friday night, but that didn't matter on Saturday morning.
The Sharks hosted Saint Peter's in their first home meet of the season, taking down the Peacocks, 309-114.
"I'm extremely pleased with both of our meets today," head coach
Bobby Smith said. "We were dominant today. This team looks better every week, and we plan on keeping that pattern going throughout the season."
In dominant fashion, LIU had the first-place finisher in all but two events.
Lincoln Greseth finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10.28:49, 35 seconds in front of second.
Dani Chocano Fernández,
Jose Alfonzo and
Marcelo Chauvet were the top-three in the 200-yard freestyle.
Freshman
Emilio Garcia won his first collegiate event, the 100-yard freestyle, with a final time of 48.60.
Ethan Law, Pascual Del Cid and Dodik were the top-three in the 100-yard butterfly.
The 400-yard medley relay team of
Benny Karlsson,
Stephen Taylor,
Lovro Dodik and
Alejandro Pascual Del Cid took first.
LIU returns to action Nov. 5 at NJIT.
