ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Emily Byrne has filled her resume in her first two competitions with LIU women's golf this fall. And on Sunday, her list of accomplishments grew.
Byrne won the individual 2022 Navy Fall Invitational with a 2-over-par 146.
There was a three-stroke difference between Byrne and the second-place finisher.
"I'm incredibly happy for and proud of Emily," head coach
Lily Bartell said. "She persevered and thrived in some tough conditions today. Our hard work is paying off and I'm looking forward to continuing to improve for the rest of the season."
As a team, the Sharks finished fifth among 15 teams.
Ashlee Garrett finished just outside the top 20 after shooting a 77 in round one.
LIU continues its fall slate next Sunday at the Quinnipiac Classic.
