EMMITSBURG, Md. – The LIU women's basketball team had a solid first half Thursday night on the road against Mount St. Mary's and headed into halftime tied, but the Mount built momentum in the third quarter, and the Sharks were unable to close the gap, falling to the Mountaineers, 74-50.

• In the second quarter, the Sharks went on a 14-0 run, scoring a total of 20 points in ten minutes while also limiting the Mount to just eight.
• Senior guard Shyla Sanford led the team's effort with 15 points, shooting three-for-five from behind the arc, while also nabbing three rebounds.
• Kennedy Taylor scored 11 points and two rebounds and an assist.
• Freshman Emaia O'Brien dropped ten points and had three assists while snatching three rebounds.
• LIU finished the game shooting 40.0 percent from behind the arc.
• Up next, the Sharks take on Saint Francis University on the road, Saturday, January 8 at 4 p.m.
