LORETTO, Penn. – The LIU women's basketball team rallied in the third quarter, but was unable to overcome a tough first period, falling to Saint Francis U., 66-50 on the road Saturday.

• In the third quarter, the Sharks went on a 9-0 run, scoring 21 points total over a 10 minute span.
• Senior Brandy Thomas was the top scorer of the evening for the Sharks dropping 18 points along with nabbing five steals, five rebounds, and a block.
• Freshman Emaia O'Brien scored 11, and had a steal and a rebound as well.
• Senior forward Kiara Bell tallied nine points while grabbing three rebounds and a block.
• LIU managed to score 15 points off of Red Flash turnovers.
• Up next, the Sharks head to Connecticut to take on Central Connecticut State on the road, Saturday, January 15.
