MANCHESTER, N.H. – In the second meeting of a two-game series against Saint Anselm College, the LIU women's ice hockey team battled but ultimately fell 5-2 to the Hawks.

• Saint Anselm scored two even strength goals in the first to put themselves ahead of the Sharks 2-0.
• Sophomore Sarah Rourke answered just 46 seconds into the second period on an even strength goal with assists from freshman Jeannie Wallner and junior Megan Bouveur to pull back to 2-1.
• The Hawks answered with two more goals of their own though, to put themselves ahead 4-1 at the end of the second period.
• Another goal in the third for Saint Anselm put the Hawks up 5-1.
• The Sharks kept up the pressure, and Bouveur scored an even strength second goal for LIU to put the score to 5-2. She was assisted by Alva Johnsson and Wallner, who earned her second assist of the evening.
• Up next, the Sharks head up to Colchester, Vermont to take on Saint Michael's College on January 28.
