BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Long Island University President Dr. Kimberly R. Cline, in conjunction with LIU Director of Athletics,
Dr. William E. Martinov Jr., today announced the addition of a men's tennis program to their athletics department, with immediate recruitment and competition beginning in 2021-22.

Jan Griga, recently named NEC Coach of the Year, will be elevated to the position of Director of Tennis/Head Men's & Women's Tennis Coach.

"We are excited to be adding men's tennis to our Shark family," Martinov said. "It will complement our successful women's tennis program, led by Coach Griga. We look forward to our continued pursuit of excellence both in the classroom and on the court!"
The Sharks will become the ninth Northeast Conference school to sponsor men's tennis.
