BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The LIU baseball team completed the series sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson at home Saturday afternoon, beating the Knights 9-2. With the win, the Sharks improve to 6-3 in Northeast Conference action.
The Sharks got on the board in the bottom of the second innings, scoring an unearned run with two outs on an FDU error. LIU added three more runs in the next inning. Senior
Christopher Wasson led off with a single, and he was advanced with a sac bunt from senior
Andy Camilo. After
Colin Adams reached on an error, Seth Surett brought home the first run with an RBI single to left center field. He stole second, and then
Cade Biddle brought both runners home with his single up the middle to make it 4-0 Sharks.
FDU would score for the first time in the top of the fifth on two hits, but LIU would answer in the bottom of the frame, scoring three runs to take a 7-1 lead. Senior
Dawson Degnan led off with a single, and Adams and Surrett both followed up with singles to load the bases. A sac fly from Biddle would score one run, and then
EJ Exposito brought two runs home with a single to center field.
Exposito would bring another run home for LIU in the bottom of the seventh, and in the bottom of the eighth,
Myles Proctor had a sac fly that would bring a run home, giving the Sharks the final score of the game.
LIU's relief pitchers shut down FDU's offense, and the Sharks clinched the 9-2 win.

- Cade Biddle was 2-for-3 with three RBI
- Exposito finished the game 3-for-4 with three RBI
- Adams was 2-for-4 with three runs scored.
- Mike Lazos (4-0) had the win on the mound, pitching 6.1 innings and giving up just one earned run while striking out four.
- Salvatore Ferro and Rob Griswold combined for 2.2 innings of near perfect relief, holding FDU hitless at the end of the game to clinch the win for the Sharks.
