FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The LIU women's rugby team wrapped up the regular season on the road Saturday, taking on Sacred Heart in three games. The Pioneers won all three, though the Sharks would threaten.

In the first game, SHU took the win, 31-5. Junior
Brianna Thomas would score LIU's only try in the second half.

Game two saw the Sharks improve scoring, tripling their points but falling to the Pioneers, 22-15. Freshman
Ava Zopf would get a try in the first half, and opened the second half with another. Freshman
Megan Burriesce would score another try, tying the game up, 15-15. But SHU would score a try as the clock expired, taking the last second win.

And in the third game, the Sharks would score 15 points in the second half, but couldn't overcome the first half deficit, falling 33-15. Sophomore
Haniyah Baugh scored the first try right as the second half started, and Zopf would get her third of the day. And senior
Tatyanna Ogbue had the last try of the day for the Sharks as the clock ran down.
