Anthony Warneke doubled the advantage with an RBI single during the second. Davon Adamscheck drew a bases-loaded walk to put the Sharks ahead 3-0 after two frames.
The Seahawks battled back and drew even with the Blue and Gold during the bottom of the third inning. The pitching for both teams took control from there, as neither team threatened until the eighth inning. A leadoff, solo-home run for Wagner gave the Seahawks the lead and led to a five-run stanza to put the game out of reach.
Game Two: LIU 14, Wagner 3
The Sharks came out with hot bats during game two, plating four runs on three hits during the top of the first. Adamscheck opened the scoring with an RBI-single to center field and Wasson followed up with a double down the left-field line to make it 2-0. Camilo kept the rally going with a single through the right side of the infield to drive in another two runs, giving LIU the early lead.
LIU tacked on one more run during the third and another six during the fourth to take complete control. Exposito and Wasson drove in runs with singles during the fourth, and Camilo broke the game wide open with a three-run home run to put the Sharks on top, 11-0. The Seahawks got on the board with a solo homer during the bottom of the fourth and eventually pushed across another run during the fourth and one more during the sixth, though it was not enough t erase the large deficit. Adams hit a solo home run during the seventh and the Sharks added two more runs during the eighth to earn the win.
The Sharks will be back in action on Wednesday, April 14 for a mid-week, non-conference matchup with Sacred Heart University.
