EMMITSBURG, Md. – The LIU women's tennis team continued strong play against Northeast Conference opponents, shutting out Mount St. Mary's on the road Friday, 7-0. The Sharks didn't drop a single set en route to the win.
 
In doubles, the Sharks went 3-0 to win the doubles point. Valentina Dancenco and Sofiya Kuzina had a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles, while Victoria Erechtchenko and Jasmine Maduel went 6-0 in the No. 2 spot. And Elinor Storkaas and Bianca Compuesto completed the sweep with their 6-3 win at No. 3.
 
In singles, LIU was also strong. Kuzina was the first to get a win, beating her opponent, 6-1, 6-0. Erechtchenko was next in the No. 3 spot, with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Shirley Liang. Dancenco clinched the match win with her 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles, while Kate Jorjoliani made it 5-0 when she beat Mia Pittman 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 6 spot. Storkaas made it 6-0 when she beat Barney at No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-4, and Compuesto would complete the sweep, winning in the No. 4 singles spot, 6-2, 6-3.
 
Up next, the Sharks take on Saint Francis U., Saturday, March 13 at 3 p.m., in a neutral site match in Emmitsburg, Md.
