BRONX, N.Y. – The LIU men's basketball team took on local rival Fordham in Rose Hill Gym Thursday night, falling to the Rams, 73-57.
 
SHARK BITES

• After a close first half, the Sharks trailed by just six points at the break, 39-33.
• The Sharks close the gap to two points a minute into the second period on a layup from Eral Penn, 39-37. But Fordham went on a run and opened the lead up to 15 points by the under 12 media timeout.
• LIU struggled in the second half, going 8-for-21 from the field. The Sharks also struggled from long range, going 6-for-24 from three-point range.
• Graduate student Isaac Kante led the Sharks in the loss with 16 points and seven rebounds.
• Senior Eral Penn had 13 points and seven rebounds, along with three assists.
• Senior Ty Flowers had eight points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
• Up next, the Sharks host Merchant Marine, Monday, December 13 at 7 p.m.
