SHARKS WIN! Men’s Basketball Downs Delaware State, 99-65

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU men's basketball team notched its first win of the season Saturday, beating Delaware State in the home opener, 99-65. The Sharks, playing at home in front of fans for the first time in nearly two years, had five players score in double digits in the win.

  • With the win, LIU is now 1-4 on the season.
  • The team led wire-to-wire in the win, in one of the best offensive outputs of the young season.
  • The Sharks were led by sophomore Kyndall Davis, who scored a career-high 21 points in 18 minutes of action. Davis went 7-for-11 from the field, including 3-for-6 from three point range. He also had seven rebounds.
  • Senior Ty Flowers had 19 points, five rebounds, four assists and two blocks for the Sharks.
  • Eral Penn and Isaac Kante both finished with double doubles. Penn had 14 poinnts and 10 rebounds, along with five assists. Kante had 10 points and 14 rebounds in his home court debut.
  • Junior Alex Rivera had 12 points and five rebounds in the win. Andre Washington also added nine points and two steals, while Tre Wood had a team-high five assists.
  • Up next, the Sharks head south to take on another Delaware opponent, this time the University of Delaware, Tuesday, November 30 at 7 p.m.
