EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – The LIU women's hockey team had a big NEWHA win at home Saturday, beating Saint Anselm College 3-2 in overtime. Sophomore Maggie Culp scored the game-winning goal for LIU that extending the Sharks' win streak to eight.

• LIU's first goal was scored by Stella Scott in the first period, assisted by freshman Jeannie Wallner.
• Saint Anselm's answered with two goals in the second period to take a 2-1 lead on the Sharks.
• In the third, junior Megan Bouveur scored the evener with help from Matilda af Bjur, tying it up 2-2 with five minutes left.
• And in the OT period, it was Culp who scored off a pass from Megan Roe, with just 45 seconds left in the period to give LIU the golden goal win, and improve the team's record to 8-6-0 and 8-0-0 in the NEWHA.
• Freshman Tindra Holm mad 35 saves in the win for LIU.
• Up next, the Sharks host Yale for a non-conference tune-up, Tuesday, November 23 at 3 p.m.
