BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - The LIU field hockey team held on for a thrilling 2-1 win at home Friday afternoon, beating Wagner, 2-1 for the Sharks' first NEC win of the year. With the defeat of the Seahawks, the Sharks are now 3-7 on the season and 1-1 in Northeast Conference play.

In the end, despite the Seahawks' best effort, the Sharks took the win. 2-1. Up next, LIU heads to Lawrenceville, N.J., for a rematch of last year's NEC championship, taking on Rider, Sunday, October 10 at 12 p.m.
