BROOKLYN, N.Y. – For the second day in a row, the LIU volleyball team swept a Northeast Conference team they lost to earlier in the year. Saturday, it was Sacred Heart, as the Sharks beat the Pioneers, 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-22). With the win, LIU moves to 10-12 overall, and 7-3 in the NEC.
SHARK BITES
- The Sharks rallied from behind several times throughout the match, including a 5-0 deficit in game three.
- Junior Karolina Nova led the Sharks with 17 kills, eight digs, six blocks and two aces.
- Miranda Strongman had a game-high nine blocks at the net, along with six kills.
- Senior Jovana Stekovic had 15 kills for LIU.
- Sophomore setters Ainsley Malis and Allie Merz had 23 and 17 assists respectively.
- Senior Anastasia Scott had a game-high 27 digs on defense.
- The Sharks, who have won three-straight, hit the road for the second-to-last weekend of the regular season, taking on Merrimack, Friday, November 5, and Bryant, Saturday, November 6.
