SHARKS WIN! Women’s Ice Hockey Blanks Saint Michael’s, 7-0

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – The LIU women's ice hockey team continued strong NEWHA play at home Friday, beating conference opponent Saint Michael's, 7-0 at Northwell Health Ice Center. With the win, the Sharks move to 3-6-0 overall, and 3-0-0 in NEWHA action.
 
SHARK BITES
  • After a scoreless first period, LIU scored four goals in the second period and three in the third.
  • Freshman Tindra Holm made six saves in net to earn the shutout win.
  • Sophomore Payton Luff started the scoring with an unassisted score just three minutes into action in the second period.
  • Megan Bouveur had a power play goal and an assist for the Sharks, while Carrigan Umpherville had a goal and an assist as well.
  • Sasha Hartje, Alva Johnsson, Ceilidh Campbell and Molly Meyers all had goals for LIU in the win.
  • Megan Roe had two assists to lead the Sharks, while freshman Bri Eid also had a help in the win.
  • Luff, Meyers, Campbell and Hartje all scored their first goals of the season for LIU. Campbell's was her first collegiate goal.
  • Up next, the two teams rematch, Saturday, October 30 at 2 p.m.
