FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The LIU volleyball team fell to Sacred Heart on the road Saturday night, 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-16). With the loss, the Sharks move to 7-12 overall, and 4-3 in the Northeast Conference.
 
SHARK BITES

• In the first set, the Sharks started off with an 8-5 lead, and held on to it until a 6-0 run by SHU gave them the 18-14 lead. The Pioneers wouldn't trail again in the first.
• In set two, LIU again went up early, 8-4, before the home team used a 9-0 run to go up, 13-8, and lead from there.
• Set three saw SHU take the lead early and never trail, winning the set, 25-16, and the match, 3-0.
• LIU had eight services aces as a squad.
• Senior libero Anastasia Scott had 19 digs and three aces.
• Jovana Stekovic led the offense with 14 kills, along with nine digs and two service aces. And sophomore setter Ainsley Malis had 22 assists and nine digs.
• Up next, the Sharks return home to Brooklyn to host St. Francis College, Saturday, October 23.
