BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Despite a career-high nine saves by freshman
Kayla DeTreux, the Long Island University women's soccer team fell 1-0 to the University of the Pacific Sunday afternoon at the LIU Soccer Park.
DeTreux's nine saves topped her previous career-best of eight that came against the New jersey Institute of Technology on Friday, September 13 at President's Stadium. She also finished with a save percentage of .900 against the Tigers.

Emily Poole had a shot on goal for the Sharks while freshmen
Hedda Einarsson and
Maria Orozco also had shots for LIU.
The match began with a spectacular display of goalkeeping by DeTreux, as she made three-consecutive saves in the fourth minute of the match.
In the 15
th minute she saved a header then would save another Pacific shot in the 44
th minute, but the Sharks were unable to put one into the back of the net which saw the score knotted 0-0 at halftime.
Orozco almost gave the Sharks the advantage early in the second half, but her header in the 48
th minute was blocked by a Tiger defender. In the 54
th minute, Pacific was able to sneak one past DeTreux to take a 1-0 lead.
DeTreux would record saves in the 56
th and 61
st minutes then Einarrson would send a shot high in the 67
th minute as the Sharks came close to scoring an equalizer.
