UP NEXT

JACKSON FIVE? MORE LIKE JACKSON THREE
• Sophomore
Jermaine Jackson Jr. only put on an LIU uniform for the first time in November, but he has already etched his name in the LIU men's basketball record books. Jackson set a new single-game program mark on December 7, when he hit nine three pointers in a game at Army. Jackson, who went 9-for-14 from long range, broke a school record that had stood for over 20 years.
• The previous single-game record of eight was set by LIU Hall-of-Famer and two-time NEC Player of the Year Charles Jones in 1998.
DOUBLE DOUBLE TROUBLE
• Senior
Raiquan Clark and junior
Ty Flowers are setting themselves up to be one of the more formidable frontcourts in the Northeast Conference. In LIU's win over Cal Poly, the duo both had double doubles, marking the first time since March of 2017 that two LIU players had double doubles in the same game. Clark finished with 28 points and 12 rebounds, while Flowers had 19 points and 11 rebounds, for his fifth double double of the season.
NEC HONOREES
• Senior
Raiquan Clark earned his first NEC honors of the season on Dec. 2, as he was named NEC Player of the Week for the fourth time in his career.
• Jackson made it two-straight for the Sharks on Dec. 9, when he earned the first NEC weekly honors of his career.
• Jackson earned a spot in the LIU record book in just his eighth game with the program. The sophomore drained a school record nine three-pointers on his way to a season-high 29 points in the Sharks' 85-72 win at Army on Saturday. He finished 9-14 from downtown, and added three rebounds and four steals as the NEC preseason favorites won their second straight. Jackson hit five straight triples in a four-minute stretch in the first half, and broke a 21-year old LIU record held by two-time NEC Player of the Year Charles Jones on his ninth three-pointer with 7:47 to play. The Shelby Township, MI product has hit 15 of his last 26 (.577) from long range, and now ranks second in the NEC with a 48.6 percent success rate from beyond the arc.
