SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Long Island University men's basketball team is set to begin the West Coast portion of their schedule Friday night, as the Sharks will take on San Diego State on November 22, at 10 p.m. Eastern Time. LIU (1-3) will take on the Aztecs (4-0) at Viejas Arena, in a game that will air on the Mountain West Network.
SHARK BITES
- LIU pulled out its first win of the season on the road Monday night, beating Delaware State, 92-84. The Sharks had five players score in double digits in the win, led by senior Raiquan Clark's 25 points. Junior Ty Flowers had his fourth straight double double, with 18 points and 17 rebounds, along with seven assists.
- San Diego State is 4-0 to start the season, including wins over BYU (76-71) and crosstown rival San Diego on Wednesday, 66-49.
- Despite a high-powered offense that's averaging 76.3 points per game, the Aztecs only have two players averaging in double digits, led by junior guard Malachi Flynn's 14.0 ppg and junior guard Jordan Schakel's 11.5 ppg. San Diego State has four players averaging eight or nine points per game, including 6-10 senior forward Yanni Wetzell (9.5 ppg, 8.3 rpg), and 6-10 sophomore forward Nathan Mensah (9.0 ppg, 9.0 rpg).
- So far this year, San Diego State, a perennial NCAA tournament team, has held opponents to an average of 55.8 points per game, and outrebounded their opponents by an average of 11.5 rebounds per game.

- Up next, LIU continues longest part of the road swing, as the Sharks will spend 10 days on the road over the Thanksgiving holiday as a part of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational. LIU will next head to Texas to take on Texas Tech, Sunday, November 24. From there, all three teams (including San Diego State) head to the Orleans Casino in Vegas, where eight different teams will finish out the tournament. LIU will take on the University of North Florida on Thursday, November 28, before facing off against either Tennessee State or Cal Poly, Friday, November 29.
