Ice Hockey Cruises Past Post, 5-1, Latorella Scores Twice

SHELTON, Conn.- It was an offensive surge at the Sports Center of Connecticut on Friday afternoon as the Long Island University women's ice hockey team matched its season-high in goals, taking down the Post University Eagles, 5-1. Abby Latorella scored twice for the Sharks while Renee Hoffmann notched her first career goal.

Just under four minutes into the game, Megan Bouveur got the Sharks on the board, scoring in back to back games. Only 12 seconds passed by and the Sharks would take a 2-0 lead over the Eagles as Renee Hoffmann scored her first career goal, which was assisted by her twin sister Julia Hoffmann. In the second period, Latorella sent home a pass from Linn Thomsen that would extend the lead to three.

Latorella was not done, and scored her second goal of the game, and team-leading fourth goal, early in the third period. Stella Scott rounded out the Sharks' scoring on the day, tallying her second goal of the season five minutes into the third period.
