After a scoreless 25 minutes of play, Poole put LIU ahead with a top-drawer strike on a free kick from over 25 yards out. Poole bent a dipping right-footed shot perfectly under the crossbar in the top-left corner of the frame for her second goal of the season. Nearly 10 minutes later, freshman
Mariah Morgan slipped a ball through the back line to Oldroyd who sent a low ball into the far corner to double the advantage. Less than five minutes into the second half, Oldroyd found the back of the net once again on an assist by freshman
Tatiana Lizarraga, capping off the scoring for the Sharks who earned their second shutout of the season.
