Aphrodite Daphnis joined LIU’s athletic training staff in September 2021. Her primary sport assignments include men’s and women's swimming and men’s volleyball.
Daphnis came to LIU after four and a half years at Columbia University where she was responsible for managing men's soccer and all three rowing teams. She helped lead the men's lightweight rowing program to a national championship title in 2018.
Daphnis has over 15 years of experience as an athletic trainer. Her passion for athletic training resulted from a personal battle with injury as a NCAA Division I swimmer at UCLA.
She has worked with athletes at a variety of athletic levels, including members of Major League Soccer, Ironman triathlon, NBA, US Rugby, Rowing, Swimming and Water Polo national teams, Stanford University and University of California Athletics.
In addition to her expertise as an athletic trainer, Daphnis is a NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist, as well as an ISSN Certified Sports Nutritionist.
