Pavlos Stephanides

Pavlos Stephanides completed his fourth season as the LIU women’s tennis assistant coach during the 2021-22 season.
 
During the 2018-19 season, Stephanides served as the volunteer assistant coach. He was responsible for assisting head coach Jan Griga with planning and implementing day to day practices. He also provided the players with tactical, mental and technical instruction on a daily basis. Stephanides, along with Griga, helped guide the team to an undefeated Northeast Conference record while also capturing the team’s third consecutive NEC Championship title.

He was instrumental during 2020-21 season when the LIU women's tennis program went undefeated in the regular season, followed by a NEC Championship against Bryant and an NCAA tournament appearance. After the season concluced, he served as a hitting partner to Danielle Collins and Rebecca Marino for the 2021 US Open Championships.

Stephanides has served as the Tennis Professional at the Manhattan Plaza Racquet Club since November 2013. There, he is responsible for organizing and running the tennis programs and groups, provide private lessons for members of all ages and levels as well as business and entertainment industry clients.  He developed and implemented various adult and junior tennis programs as well as coached high-performance junior players toward playing for nationally ranked college programs.

Stephanides has been coaching tennis since 2008, and has coached throughout New York, Philadelphia and San Diego. He is a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Licensed Coach.    
 
Stephanides graduated from Temple University in 2010 with a degree in sport and recreation management. At Temple, Stephanides played No. 4-No. 6 singles and No. 2-No.3 doubles for the Owls.
