Sawyer Burley joined LIU Athletics as an assistant sports performance coach in January 2024.
Burley arrived from the University of Nevada, where she served as assistant strength and conditioning coach the previous year.
In that role, she programmed and executed return-to-play protocols for injured student-athletes, coached individual stations during lift sessions, managed nutrition and hydration, and assisted with data collection.
Burley earned a bachelor of science degree in exercise science from Florida Gulf Coast University in May 2020. She earned a master of science degree in sports coaching from Ohio State University in May 2022.
She holds NSCA and CSCS as well as American Red Cross CPR/AED and first aid certifications.
