Ryan Schickling joined the men's volleyball program in the fall of 2022.
From 2018-2020, Schickling played for Team Sunderland in the English Super League and Team Northumbria in the BUCS League in England. As the top scorer with Team Sunderland in 2019-20, he led them to a sixth place finish in the Super League. He also helped Team Northumbria to a third place finish in 2019 and a co-champions berth in the BUCS League in 2020.
After two seasons in England, Schickling had a brief stint with MTV Ludwigsburg in Germany in 2020, which unfortunately was cut short due to COVID-19. He also was invited to the England National Team Winter Training Camp in December 2019 in preparation for the NOVOTEL Cup.
Schickling spent the last two seasons playing professionally in the National Volleyball Association with the Las Vegas Ramblers, winning gold in 2022 and silver in 2021.
In 2020, he received his master’s of science in business with marketing management at Northumbria University in Newcastle in Tyne, England. He also received his Bachelor’s degree in International Business from UC San Diego in 2018.
Schickling currently works for GroupM in digital advertising.
