Luke Pope

Luke Pope joined LIU men’s volleyball as an assistant coach in December 2022.
 
Pope joined the Sharks after he served as head coach of his alma mater, Ottawa University, Kansas. He was the coach from 2020-2022 and had two runner-up conference championship seasons.
 
Before his time at Ottawa as the head coach, he was the graduate assistant at University of Jamestown from 2019-2020, finishing the year in the top ten in the NAIA.
 
As a setter at Ottawa, Pope helped take his team to two national championship tournament appearances and earned NAIA Newcomer of the Year his first year, NAIA All-American and all-conference during the 2017 and 2018 seasons.
 
Before Ottawa, Luke had one year at Concordia, Irvine and one year at Goldenwest College where he won a State Championship and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
 
He was also a part of the elite 10 training team for Team USA U21 Beach Volleyball in 2013.
 
Pope earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science with an emphasis in coaching from Ottawa University, Kansas.
