Nicole Renault

Nicole Renault completed her first season as an assistant coach with the LIU women's hockey team during the 2019-20 season.

Renault came to Long Island after spending the past two years as an assistant coach at Division III Nichols College, where she helped heighten the program to its two best seasons in program history.

In her first season at Nichols, Renault helped improve the team’s overall record by 11 wins from the previous season, eventually leading the team to its first ever playoff win. In her second year, the Bison accomplished their first winning season in program history, finishing second in the Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) regular season play. Renault was responsible for all areas of the program at Nichols, which included recruiting, individual skill development, defensive management, video analysis and team travel coordination. Renault graduated from the graduate school at Nichols College with her Masters of Business Administration in May 2019.

Before beginning her coaching career, Renault was a four-year member of the Syracuse University program, serving as an assistant captain in her final two seasons. She holds the record for the most points by a defenseman in program history. In her freshman season, Renault was a unanimous selection to the CHA All-Rookie Team before earning First Team All-CHA in her final three campaigns. She was also named CHA Defenseman of the Year in her senior season. In 145 career games with the Orange, Renault scored 18 goals to go along with 58 assists.

A three-time CHA All-Academic Team pick, Renault graduated from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management in May 2016, with a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management. Following graduation, she continued her playing career in the European Women’s Hockey League (EWHL) as a member of the EV Bozen 84 Eagles. In her one season overseas, Renault helped the Eagles capture both the regular season and playoff championship.
