Charles Jones joined the LIU staff ahead of the 2022-23 season. He will serve as special assistant to the head coach.
No stranger to Brooklyn, Jones played for LIU for two seasons and led the NCAA in scoring with 30.1 ppg during the 1996-97 campaign.
Jones is one of two players in NCAA history to average 30 or more points in a season.Â
He helped guide the 1996-97 squad to the NCAA tournament after winning the regular season and tournament crown.Â
Jones played for the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers in 1999 before playing 10 seasons of professional basketball overseas, winning league titles in Argentina and Bulgaria.Â
