Shasha Brown joined the LIU staff in July 2022. He will serve as an assistant coach.
Prior to joining the Sharks, Brown served as director of basketball operations and general manager for Vanderbilt men’s basketball under NBA veteran head coach, Jerry Stackhouse.
Brown helped develop NBA draft pick and two-time Southeastern Conference scoring champion, Scotty Pippen Jr., and Boston Celtics lottery pick, Aaron Nesmith.
From 2016-19, he acted as the NBA Elite Youth Coordinator as the day-to-day liason for cross-departmental youth basketball initiatives.
Brown was a graduate assistant for Virginia Commonwealth men’s basketball from 2014-16, where he received his Master’s of Education, Sports Management degree.
A four-year varsity letter winner at Wesleyan University (D-III), Brown became the all-time leading scorer and assist leader in school history.
He graduated from Wesleyan with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology.
