Alex Green joined LIU Athletics as head football athletic trainer in the spring of 2021.
He arrived on Long Island after completing four seasons as a full-time athletic trainer at the University of Kentucky.
Green previously had spent two seasons as a graduate assistant for football with the Wildcats while earning a master of science degree in athletic training from the university.
Between those two UK opportunities, Green spent the 2016 season as an intern with the Miami Dolphins.
He also worked as a season student intern with the Pittsburgh Steelers, in 2013.
A native of Northampton, Pa., Green earned a bachelor of science degree in athletic training from the University of Pittsburgh.
There, he gained experience by working as a student trainer with the men's basketball, baseball and women’s volleyball teams.
Green is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association and is a licensed athletic trainer by the New York State Education Department. He also
is CPR/AED certified by the American Heart Association and a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
