Jason Calman completed his sixth season as an assistant coach with the LIU football team in 2019, including his fourth year as the Sharks' running backs coach, after spending two seasons as an assistant defensive backs coach.
During his time with LIU, he helped mentor Malik Pierre, '19 to four all-conference selections and over 5,600 all-purpose yards for his career. Pierre finished his career ranked third all-time in rushing yards (3,114) at LIU and was named to the Don Hansen all-region team during his senior campaign.
Calman, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management from Penn State University in May 2009, resides in Hewlett, N.Y.
