At University of Florida, Dede again worked with defensive backs. They finished 10th in the country in passing yards allowed, 18th in pass efficiency defense and 21st nationally in scoring defense. Upon completing his degree, Dede returned to his hometown of Woodbridge, Virginia, as head coach for the Woodbridge Vikings. Dede led the program to a playoff berth in his first season. In 2013, he helped to develop future NFL fourth-round draft pick Da’Shawn Hand.

His coaching career began in the high school ranks at Berkmar High School in Georgia in 2008 and continued at Auburn High School from 2009 through ’11, where he coached linebackers and future NFL first-round draft pick Rashaan Evans. He helped to guide Auburn to three consecutive regional championships and a No. 17 national ranking.
