DJ Gillins was hired in January 2022 as the wide receievers coach.
Prior to LIU, Gillins spent one season at Utah as an offensive graduate assistant.
Gillins competed collegiately at Wisconsin (2014-15), Pearl River Community College (2016), SMU (2017) and UTSA (2018), playing both wide receiver and quarterback during his career.
Gillins was a quality control assistant at Utah State during spring football in 2019 before spending the fall as a wide receiver graduate assistant coach at Arkansas.
A three-star recruit, Gillins was rated as the No. 3 dual-threat quaterback and No. 17 overall player in Fla. in the class of 2017.
A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Gillins earned his degree in sociology from SMU.
