BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – LIU football's
Callum Brent has earned NEC Special Teams Player of the Week honors, the conference announced Monday.
Brent put together a versatile performance in LIU's Sept. 12 matchup vs. UAlbany this past Saturday. Midway through the first quarter, Brent's punt fake gave way to a 30-yard rush and eventual first down on fourth for the Sharks. The 30-yard rush with Brent on the run was the team's longest rush of the season thus far.
The sophomore also boasted an average of 54 yards per punt, including a long punt of 73 yards in the game.
Additionally,
Rafael Fasolino has earned his second NEC Prime Performer nod of the campaign after tallying eight tackles (4 solo, 4 assisted), leading the LIU defense in tackles for the second time in three games.
The Sharks will return to the field Saturday, Sept. 19, hosting Villanova at Homecoming at 12 p.m.
