Selia Lyons career high eight point showing, the Long Island University women's lacrosse team (3-3) defeated the Iona University Gaels (1-4) Wednesday afternoon at Mazzella Field. Lyons had a career high six assists throughout the game, leading the Sharks on the year with 13. Also scoring two goals, she leads the team in points for the season with 17.

Erin Harkins each had two goals with
Abigail Hughes scoring her lone goal of the game to start the scoring in the fourth quarter.
The Sharks were tied with the Gaels, 3-3, at the end of the first half, but a four-goal third period set LIU ahead and caused the Iona to trail the remainder of the game.
LIU outshot the Gaels 22-14, caused six turnovers, and held Iona to 12 of 17 clear completions. Goalkeeper
Skyler Fig made seven saves in the game and earned one groundball out of the Sharks 11.
The Sharks will travel to Smithfield, Rhode Island on Saturday, Mar. 7, to compete against Bryant University (4-3) for their final non-conference game of the season. Opening draw is scheduled for 12 p.m.
