BRIDGEWATER, N.J.– Junior attackman
Ben McIsaac of the Long Island University men's lacrosse team was named NEC Co-Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. The award is McIsaac's first career weekly honor from the NEC.
McIsaac led the Sharks this week in their two games with seven goals, two assists, nine points, and five ground balls. He had a career-high six goals and eight points when LIU defeated Bellarmine University, 15-7, on Sunday afternoon.
McIsaac also received prime performer recognition from the conference along with redshirt junior attacker
Drew Togno.
Togno recorded four goals, one assist, five points, and one caused turnover for the Sharks to earn the prime performer recognition.
McIsaac is the second LIU player to claim player of the week honors this season. Senior attackman
Cameron Connolly was named player of the week on Feb. 9, after week one of the season. McIsaac,
Tyler Davide (defensive player of the week, Feb. 23),
Tyler Gresh (defensive player of the week, Feb. 9), and Connolly have all earned weekly awards from the NEC this season.
The Sharks return home to host Queens University of Charlotte at Shark Stadium on Saturday, Mar. 7. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
