LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Junior attackman
Ben McIsaac scored a career-high six goals and tallied a career-high eight points as the Long Island University men's lacrosse team (4-1) defeated Bellarmine University (4-4), 15-7, on Sunday afternoon.
The Sharks trailed 6-5 at halftime before a third-quarter outburst put the game away. LIU outscored Bellarmine 7-0 in the third, sparked by back-to-back goals from McIsaac and featuring three consecutive scores by
Ben Schuster, to take a 12-6 lead entering the fourth quarter.
After
Drew Togno scored his second straight goal to open the fourth, a season-best 8-0 run put LIU ahead 13-6 with 8:37 remaining.
Schuster scored four goals in the game with one assist and Togno scored three goals with one assist.
Aidan Zuhoski added two goals with two assists.
LIU outshot Bellarmine, 55-23, and retrieved 28 ground balls to Bellarmine's 16. The Sharks were a perfect 20-for-20 on clear attempts, forced 22 turnovers, and won 17 of 25 faceoffs, with
Shaun Hill winning 16 of his 22 faceoff attempts.

The Sharks return to action on Saturday versus Queens University of Charlotte at Shark Stadium. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
