EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — Long Island University will welcome Everything College Hockey, one of the nation's leading digital media platforms dedicated to college hockey, on Friday, Oct. 23, as Men's Hockey hosts USA Hockey's National Team Development Program at Northwell Health Ice Center.
The visit comes amid continued growth and national recognition for LIU Hockey, highlighted by its strategic partnership with the New York Islanders.
The Sharks play their home games at Northwell Health Ice Center, the Islanders' official practice facility, providing a professional environment for LIU's Division I programs.
The partnership has also expanded opportunities to showcase college hockey at UBS Arena, including the upcoming Empire State Holiday Invitational on Dec. 28-29.
"Our program continues to grow, and opportunities like this help introduce Sharks hockey to fans across the country," said head coach Brenden Riley. "We want young hockey players across the region to experience the excitement of Division I hockey and see what makes LIU such a special place to play."
Friday's matchup against USA Hockey's NTDP, one of the nation's premier development programs for elite young hockey players, will also serve as Youth Hockey Night.
A large turnout of youth hockey players, teams and families from across Long Island and the New York metropolitan area is anticipated, with special pregame activities at Northwell Health Ice Center.
The evening will give young hockey players an opportunity to experience NCAA Division I competition firsthand while showcasing the continued growth of the region's only Division I men's hockey program.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at athletictickets.liu.edu.
Founded by James Murray, Everything College Hockey has built a national following through digital content, behind-the-scenes features, player interviews and its popular Pucks in Deep podcast.
The platform reaches hockey fans nationwide, providing exposure for NCAA Division I programs and their student-athletes.
