BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - The two-time defending NEC Champion Long Island University women's lacrosse team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2026 season. Single-game tickets for LIU's six home games at Shark Stadium are available for purchase at $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.

The Sharks open the season on Sunday, Feb. 8, versus George Mason University in their lone non-conference home game. The non-conference slate also features a neutral site contest with The University of Massachusetts on Feb. 21 at Weldon E. Howitt Middle School in Farmingdale as part of the 2026 Dalers Lacrosse Classic presented by Shore 2 Shore Lacrosse.

Road meetings with St. Bonaventure University (Feb. 13), Manhattan University (Feb. 25), The University of Vermont (Feb. 28), Iona College (March 4), and Bryant University (March 7) conclude the non-conference portion of the schedule.

The nine-game conference slate opens on March 14 versus Howard University at home and concludes on April 25 versus Mercyhurst University at Shark Stadium.

In 2026, Meghan McNamara-Cafiero enters her 19th season as head coach. Last season, the Sharks went 12-7 overall with an 8-1 conference record to clinch a share of the NEC regular season title for the second straight season. With a 14-9 road victory over Stonehill College in the NEC Championship Game, the Sharks claimed the program's second consecutive NEC tournament crown and NCAA Tournament berth.

McNamara-Cafiero and assistants Meghan Els and Brianna Lamoureux, all of whom return in 2026, were named the 2025 NEC Coaching Staff of the Year, the program's second consecutive such honor.

On the field, the Sharks return five all-conference players from last season's roster: Julia Trainor (Midfielder of the Year, first team), Lindsey Lucia (second team), Selia Lyons (second team), Erin Harkins (second team), and Catherine Batterberry (all-rookie).
