INDIANAPOLIS - Long Island University Director of Athletics Elliott Charles has been appointed as a member of the NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee, the NCAA announced. Charles' term of service on the committee begins on September 1, 2025, and will continue through August 31, 2029. He is the first LIU Director of Athletics to receive an appointment with this committee.
"Long Island University congratulates Elliott Charles on his appointment to the FCS National Selection Committee," said LIU President Dr. Kimberly Cline. "His leadership has been instrumental in elevating LIU's national profile as we were awarded our third NEC Commissioner's Cup in five years. Elliott is an outstanding ambassador for our commitment to excellence both on and off the field."
The NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee is responsible for annually selecting and seeding participants in the 24-team FCS playoff field. The committee is comprised of 10 athletic directors, representing each of the 10 FCS conferences that receive automatic bids for the FCS playoffs.
